Steer Media is a Dubai creative agency that manages social media and produces content for cafes and restaurants: we plan the month, shoot it on a Sony FX3 cinema camera, edit it, and run the community and paid social around it.

Food and beverage is the biggest category in our work. It makes up 25 of the 50 reels in our library and 144 of the 266 social creatives in our archive. Our hospitality clients are in Dubai and Pakistan: Ceylonka, One Hour Bakery and Levante in the UAE, and So Gusto, Funky Monk, Roll Inn, New Dilpasand and Moukata in Pakistan.

• Shoot days. One block for the month: dishes and drinks, preparation, the room and the people, shot in one visit and cut into a month of posts.
• Reels. Short vertical films for your feed. From AED 1,000 for the shoot alone and from AED 1,500 shot and edited.
• Food, drink and menu photography. Consistent images for the menu, delivery apps and the website, shot in our Dubai studio or at your venue and quoted to the brief.
• Launch films. One short film for a new venue, a new dish or a season. AI ad films start from AED 10,000 for a film up to one minute; live-action films are quoted per brief.
• Identity, menus and packaging. A brand, a menu and takeaway packaging that look like one place. Brand identity from AED 5,000, packaging from AED 1,000 per pack.
• Arabic and English. Captions, menus and campaigns built for each market and language, delivered in English, Arabic, Urdu and Chinese.

We shoot cafe and restaurant content on a Sony FX3, a full-frame camera from Sony's Cinema Line. It is the kind of camera a brand film is shot on, and we bring it to a cafe table on purpose.

What a cinema camera changes for food and drink

• Depth. A full-frame sensor gives the shallow focus that separates a dish from the room behind it.
• Low light. The FX3 is built for low light, so a dim dining room can look like a dim dining room.
• Slow motion. It records 4K and slow motion for pours, steam and the break of a crust.
• One look. The footage grades like cinema footage, so a feed keeps the same look from the first post of the month to the last.

A carousel tells a process, a menu range or an offer one frame at a time, and it is one of the formats we design for cafes.

1. Audit. We look at your feed and your competitors' feeds, and agree the position your content argues from.
2. Plan. Four or five content pillars and one calendar, with Ramadan, Eid and the other moments in your category booked well ahead.
3. Shoot. One production block for the month, so the photography and video for every post is in hand before the month starts.
4. Publish and manage. Posts, stories and reels go out against the calendar, and we answer comments and messages in your brand's voice.
5. Measure. Paid social is planned and optimised against return, and each month's plan is shaped by what the last month's numbers showed.
